GEA Niro’s sister company in the USA, GEA Process Engineering Inc.,
has been awarded a contract for a complete laundry detergent processing system.
The contract value exceeds US$ 20 million.

predominately in North America, with annual revenues in excess of $ 2,200

and recognized name in American homes for over 150 years.
Church &
Dwight Co. is building a new, “state-of-the-art” laundry detergent
manufacturing facility in York, Pennsylvania, about one hour north of GEA’s
Columbia, MD office. The new facility will utilize technologies to meet goals
of plant efficiency and environmental sustainability. GEA Process Engineering
Inc. has demonstrated that it has the technologies needed to meet
the owner’s business goals and has been chosen as their process partner.
The scope of this project for GEA Process Engineering Inc. is the
“design & build” of the complete laundry detergent process (i.e. no
facility responsibility), from raw material inlet to the filler interface.
Aside from advanced process integration, several GEA proprietary technologies
will be employed, including the GEA Diessel’s DICON™ continuous blending
system and GEA Tuchenhagen’s matrix piping systems.
It is perceived to
be an ideal project for the GEA Process Engineering Inc. as all the required
skills and competencies are well within the current track record and
consequently the project represents minimal risk.
